I love sharing student artwork, and whenever you see an installation, you’ll also notice small 8.5” x 11” posters displayed beside each piece. These aren’t just decorations—they help highlight the learning behind the art.

There’s a common misconception that art class is simply “play time.” But if you visit any Department of Education website, you’ll find that visual arts has clearly defined standards and learning requirements, just like Social Studies, Math, and every other academic subject. Our students are building real skills—creative thinking, problem-solving, technique, vocabulary, craftsmanship—while expressing themselves through their work.

Art isn’t extra. Art is essential.
